Transport for London aim to make the 4G service available across the entirety of the London Underground by the middle of the year 2020 – meaning that commuters will be able to access a 4G network on their smart devices whilst travelling across London
Benefiting regular users of the underground by allowing them to work, stream, upload, download and most importantly take calls.
Overall the project will be expected to use between 50-100 engineers, working for six months, day and night to help achieve this, with equipment such as 2,000km of fibre optic cabling.
This will be a great improvement to London to keep people connected and safe! There are also talks of potential 5G connectivity in the future.
