DataKom create five new roles

Two promotions within the technical department

DataKom is pleased to announce that two members of the technical team have been awarded promotions.

The roles of Service Manager, Engineering Manager and Trainee Engineer were primarily advertised internally, with two roles being filled by members of the DataKom team.

The telecoms company are passionate about encouraging continual learning and development for all members of the company. The company work with The Educ8 Group - a provider of training and development programmes for businesses, to enhance essential skills.

Service Manager

Barry McFarlane has been promoted to Service Manager to lead the internal technical team and ensure efficient working of the department.

Barry will be introducing training and development while adding further structure to the team. The new role will ensure excellent customer service continues to be delivered through the service desk.

Barry has five years of experience with DataKom, beginning as a field-based engineer and carrying out phone system installations. More recently Barry has worked in-house providing high-levels of customer service and repairing complex faults.

Engineering Manager

In a further change within this department – Jonathan Davies has been promoted to Engineering Manager.

Jonathan will be working with the sales and projects team while leading the field-based engineering team.  The role has been designed to enhance operations between the sales, projects and engineering departments – ensuring high customer service standards are at the forefront. 

Jonathan has worked for DataKom since 2013 as a Senior Field Engineer and has over a decade of experience in PBX engineering.
